Anyone else having trouble getting their child to sleep in their crib/own room?

Chloe never sleeps a full night in her crib, no matter what I do. I tried rocking her back to sleep but she wakes up when I put her back in the crib (I usually try this about 2-3 times, which takes anywhere from half hour to an hour in the middle of the night), but that didn’t work and she would end up sleeping in my bed. I’ve tried a few things.

My conclusion is this: Either her crib mattress is uncomfortable OR she wakes up and doesn’t see me and is scared.

How I am trying to fix this: Tonight I am going to set up a playpen in my room, at the end of my bed. I figure if she realizes I am there it might help. I don’t know how comfy a play pen is either but I can imagine it’s not too great. If this doesn’t work I am going to buy some of those “egg carton” foamy mat things and put it in her crib.

Another thing she has to learn is how to put herself back to sleep. I tried putting about several soothers around her in the crib, so if she woke she would find one and go to sleep. Didn’t work. I tried music, all of it, it didn’t work. So we will work on that. She is beginning to fall asleep on her own for naps and bedtime though! That is a start.

Wish me luck tonight!
